Degrees we like to see

  • Bachelor's in computer science, computer technology, or related field
  • BS/BA or equivalent in business, finance, marketing, or similar sales discipline
  • BS in education or related discipline (technical training)


Skills sets and experience we like to see

  • AWS or public cloud experience in telecommunications field
  • Experience with cloud computing i.e. OpenStack,  (with an initial preference for AWS)
  • Software engineering in Java, Python or Scala server-side development
  • Experience with synchronization techniques in stateless distributed systems
  • Demonstrable understanding of scalability and availability in distributed systems
  • Experience in Linux operating environments desired                _______________________________________________________________________ 
  • Experience building web-based UIs 
  • Intimate understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript (recent exp in HTML5 and CSS3)
  • An understanding of or familiarity with the ideas behind OOCSS
  • Demonstrable experience in JavaScript & JQuery
  • Experience in one or more JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Knockout, Backbone.js, Ember, etc.)
  • Familiarity with back-end technologies, including SOA, Restful interfaces, tiered application development, Java app servers (Tomcat, JBoss, etc.), SQL, NoSQL (Hadoop, Redis, Couchbase, etc.)        ________________________________________________________________________ 
  • Applied networking and system administration
  • C++/C# coding & maintenance, Microsoft environment
  • ASP.Net, Java, JavaScript, SQL
  • Jetty, Grizzly, Git, Jenkins, Maven, NoSQL
  • ISDN, T1, VoIP protocols (SIP), Microsoft networking and/or Cisco IOS is a plus
  • Microsoft OS administration, networking and application level support skills

    I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at Interactive Intelligence.

    Interview Details

    The hiring process was very well done. It starts with a phone screen with basic question, goes on to phone interview with an engineer with behavioral questions and ends with an on site interview with 2 to 3 interviewers. All in all it was a good experience, the last interview would be the most difficult if I had to pick.
