I worked at International Arts & Artists

Their mission is great, and they manage to pull of some wonderful things on very little staff and funding. Additionally, they are always willing to take a chance on young people right out of college, so you jump right in and have a good amount of responsibility right off the bat. Great resume builder, a chance to get your feet wet.

Lots of big ideas without the funding or business savvy to pull it off. Company management is generally out of touch, unfortunately. Salaries are too low to be sustainable long-term, which is a shame because you love your job but then you have to leave because you can't pay the bills.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to feedback from employees - the best ideas are usually those generated by the people doing the day-to-day work. A little more structure within management would be nice. Understand that if you want employees to stick around long-term, you will need to pay them a livable wage, and cost of living increases, or bonuses, or merit-based raises should at least be an option.
