IA&A is a cool nonprofit in DC committed to the arts and increasing cross-cultural understanding of the arts.

    Pros

The people that work here are awesome--smart, fun, professional. The location in Dupont Circle is fantastic (you are in spitting distance of metro stops, eating and shopping, and a grass circle for eating lunch). If you are into art and arts management, it is a very cool nonprofit.

    Cons

The office is divided among departments--marketing exhibitions, cultural exchange, Hillyer Art Space--and you do not really interact or work with those not in your department. As a small organization, there is also not much room for upward mobility or career progress. As a nonprofit as well, there is not much room for growth in terms of finances or compensation.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at International Arts & Artists (Washington, DC) in April 2015.

    Interview

There are generally two rounds: the first is sending resume and cover letters. Then they select four candidates for interview. They have about 20 questions being asked one by one. Few behavior questions mainly are facts-based illustration about your quality. Some questions are professional knowledge test.
