I have been working at International SOS full-time for more than a year

There is a good feeling in this organization generally. People care about each other and the work they do, and there is pride about what this company accomplishes for its clients. Pay is okay and benefits are very good, with a good vacation policy. The opportunity to learn is great if you look for it, and there are chances for international work for those who want that.

Internal departments are understaffed and no investment in technology or systems. A lot of bureaucratic procedures, make it hard to get things done. Some senior leaders are total micro-managers. Good people with the experience to make needed change sometimes just leave in frustration. While most middle-managers are great people who care about their people, some very bad managers are tolerated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring the company into the 21st century with systems and management philosophy. Your history and products are awesome. Your employees are passionate about the mission, and want to serve clients with high-quality and care.

    Application Details

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at International SOS.

    Interview Details

Contacted through LinkedIn, and then 2 telephone interviews. Met 3 people in person at the office outside Philadelphia including a recruiter and a peer. They had some trouble finding space for the interviews so the offices may be overcrowded or poorly organized but the people were friendly, professional and focused. The style of interview is conversational but heavy on specific relevant experience for the role. Everyone discussed the company culture so they see fit as a key success driver. Some behavioral questions throughout the meetings.

    Interview Questions
    • Nothing was especially difficult. I think they knew I had the experience for the job and were focused on fit.   Answer Question
