The New World of 9-1-1 Emergency Communications
When people call 9-1-1 to save a life, stop a crime or report a fire, they depend on the emergency communication system to perform reliably and efficiently.
Unlike a few years ago, today people dial 9-1-1 from more than just wireline telephones located in homes, businesses or public buildings. Emergency calls now are made from wireless phones, computers, and Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) communication platforms and comprise the majority of the 9-1-1 calls received at emergency communications centers.
Vast changes in communications technologies require highly innovative advancements to support public demand for real-time 9-1-1 emergency communications service. Intrado is uniquely positioned to lead the transformation into the new world of 9-1-1 emergency communications.

Intrado has a respectful culture with employees who seem to be truly passionate about public safety and proud to be in this industry.
My leadership team--and, actually, all of the managers I've encountered in the Mobility division--are extremely smart, supportive and hands-off.
My workload is heavy but not unmanageable, and I think the company promotes work-life balance.
The PTO is generous, plus there's a decent gym with classes. The cafe food is fantastic.
The medical benefit costs are slightly higher than my previous employer, but in line with what I've seen at other companies.
Advice to Management
Continue to look for ways to innovate and expand into new markets.

I applied online. The process took 1+ week – interviewed at Intrado (Longmont, CO) in May 2015.
Phone screening with some technical questions followed by the usual personality questions. In person interview a little over a week after telephone screening (some personnel were on vacation so it took longer than usual to schedule the face to face). Met with QA team then a manager then HR. Pretty ordinary process.
