I have been working at Jackson County Memorial Hospital full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

It is a progressive hospital focused on achieving positive patient outcomes and employee satisfaction. There is consistent support for education and ongoing training/staff development.
Employees participate on a variety of hospital committees and work groups and the input of frontline staff is valued and respected.
We meet or exceed standards of care with extremely low incidents of healthcare acquired infections.
Patient safety and satisfaction is our priority every day.

    Cons

We need more physicians in our community.
We face many new challenges associated with decreased reimbursement from Medicare/Medicaid/Insurers as do most hospitals in the U.S.
    Our inpatient census is erratic.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We don't do a good enough job of promoting and publicizing our accomplishments to the community.
