I have been working at Jackson County Memorial Hospital full-time (More than 10 years)

It is a progressive hospital focused on achieving positive patient outcomes and employee satisfaction. There is consistent support for education and ongoing training/staff development. Employees participate on a variety of hospital committees and work groups and the input of frontline staff is valued and respected. We meet or exceed standards of care with extremely low incidents of healthcare acquired infections. Patient safety and satisfaction is our priority every day.

We need more physicians in our community. We face many new challenges associated with decreased reimbursement from Medicare/Medicaid/Insurers as do most hospitals in the U.S. Our inpatient census is erratic.

    Advice to Management

We don't do a good enough job of promoting and publicizing our accomplishments to the community.

    Difficult Interview

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in July 2009.

Completed application, was contacted by HR , interviewed with the CNO alone, and then with a group of managers. I was provided a job description prior to the interview. I was then offered the position by the CNO. Once I had accepted the position, HR contacted me to schedule in-processing and orientation dates.

    Interview Questions

    • I was asked what I could contribute to the organization and what I expected from it. Also asked about dealing with difficult employees.   Answer Question
