Former Employee - Marketing Assistant in Washington, DC

I worked at Jackson & Campbell PC as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

It was a small firm, so the adherence to company values created a great sense of community among the employees. Even though I was only an intern I was respected by senior-level staff, and they were very willing to provide career advice and exposure to various aspects of legal proceedings.

    Cons

The office is primarily full of older lawyers, so if you are looking for a younger, dynamic work environment, this might not be the place for you. The firm was still struggling to implement a successful social media strategy, and the age gap made it difficult for some employees to embrace the use of social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube as a viable business plan.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would work to more fully develop the social media strategy of the firm, making sure that all employees are able to successfully navigate these online forums.

I applied through college or university – interviewed at Jackson & Campbell PC.

    Interview Details

There was an initial phone interview after they received my resume, and then an in-person interview that followed the phone interview by a few days. The phone interview covered basic questions, such as past work experience, proficiency in social media, relevant marketing or public affairs experience, and typical personal questions, such as greatest weakness.
