Employees with a can-do attitude progress their careers the furthest at JTI, whether they’re pursuing a traditional, vertical career path, or one that moves laterally through our business
We value both types of career, since we benefit from employees with a broad understanding of our business, as much as from those who specialize in one part.
A can-do attitude is about demonstrating positivity towards the projects and tasks and showing respect for the views and arguments of others. It’s about playing an active role in their team and taking every opportunity to develop new skills.
Most of all, it means maximizing every opportunity to contribute through being passionate about helping JTI grow.
JTI managers are guided on how to spot the right attitude when hiring. It’s as important as finding the right skills.
We’re big enough to offer you a wide range of development opportunities, while our dynamic culture will give you the freedom to make a difference and create your own career path. Ongoing coaching and on-the-job training – provided by your line manager and facilitated by our HR team – will help you broaden your skills. You will also have the chance to meet people of different cultures and nationalities and gain exposure to international practices.
JTI values enterprising minds. New ideas can come from anyone, anywhere, and everyone is encouraged to innovate and try new things. We listen to our employees; we run a Global Employee Engagement Survey to elicit the opinions of all our people on a regular basis. We act responsibly and keep our promises. And we reward our employees’ efforts.

I worked at Japan Tobacco International full-time (More than 8 years)
Good basic salary, very good benefits and at all a good package! Very good training programs and, as employee you feel that you are important for the company. Very good career oportunities (promotions) if you desire and if you work a lot with dedication.
High stress level for some people that may not be used with, for me wasn't a problem!

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Japan Tobacco International (Los Angeles, CA) in February 2014.
After finishing document process, I got a interview offer. And it was the first reound interivew, and face-to-Face interview. Interviewers are a Direct report line manager and a HR Manager. It was not so difficult, but very friendly.
