I worked at Jefferson County Public Library part-time (More than 3 years)
Dedication to purpose, teamwork, professionalism, inclusiveness, and recognition for hard work make it enjoyable to go to work. The library provides so much more than ever before and even with budgetary cuts this District is still the leader in innovation and services. The first priority is toward the patrons and everyone is always happy to assist both patrons and fellow employees. Best place I ever worked!
None for the employer or the job, but the uncertainty caused by the political stigmatization of public employees in general and the current climate of stirring up animosity toward any programs that serve the public can be a bit stressful at times. The library system provides a most necessary service to everyone and its loss would be a great tragedy.
Advice to Management
Keep up the good work and don't cave in to the pressure to privatize!
