I worked at John Perez Graphics & Design full-time (more than 3 years)

I loved working for John Perez Graphics & Design. As an employee I enjoyed being at the forefront of technology as well as learning about many facets of graphic design and geology while working for a company that services the oil and gas industry. I took pride in my work as being the best of the best and have never thought differently. JPGD is still above industry standard at the present time and the detail is unlike no other! As an employee I always felt appreciated though praise, bonuses and raises. John always put families first, in fact he helped me buy a vehicle when mine finally gave out. I would recommend John as a boss and the company as an excellent place to work. I would without hesitation work for this company again.

Like cons in every work place, there are deadlines that need to be times it did get stressful as things got down to the wire, however I was always offered dinner or accommodations if I was required to work late or come in early for that matter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you are doing...I obviously learned more there in the three years I was employed by JPGD, just as a web master, then I have at any big Ad Agency due to the determination and forethought put into every piece of work. The trip to California's SIGRAPH convention really helped me put things into perspective for the future.

I recommend always keeping an eye out for the future technologies. Mobile, Tablet, Smartphones. These will become the most prominent pieces of technology in the next five years. Integrating what you do with these technologies will be an open door for you in the industry. Good Luck and God Bless!

    Application Details

I applied through other source – interviewed at John Perez Graphics & Design.

    Interview Details

Initial telephone screening done with Mr. Perez. After answering Mr. Perez's questions, he instructed me to look at his site & write him if still interested in the position. After looking @ the site, I wrote back expressing interest. He didn't respond back in writing or phone call. When I called him to follow-up, he was extremely rude to me indicating I took too long to write (it was the next day after our phone conversation). He then abruptly told me they were looking at other candidates. Bad impression of this comp. because of his lack of tact, didn't thank me for applying & general unprofessional phone skills.
