I have been working at Johnson City Medical Center full-time

-It's the flagship of MSHA, the gargantuan in the region
-Has a wide variety of specialties, which allows for broader experience and lateral movement to a variety of areas
-Always striving to better their systems, processes and patient care
    -Decent benefits
-Further along in the stages of meaningful use than many other hospitals in the country

-Intense focus on raising HCAHPS scores sometimes leads to unrealistic expectations of employees
    -Continuous staffing shortage throughout hospital.
-High turnover rate results in a large percentage of the staff having experience of 5 years or less

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Include more frontline staff in the decision-making about goals and processes. RIE groups should include more nurses if the processes you seek to change are ones primarily used by nurses. Though people from other disciplines might have fresh ideas to contribute, the people who see the inner-workings of processes, guidelines and systems are the ones who use them every day.
