I have been working at Kennesaw State University part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a flexible enough position that allows you to engage with a community that is willing to learn. The stipend is a nice surprise if you are using it to supplement a full-time position or working elsewhere as a contractor. Since classes are typically once or twice a week you're not trapped in an office, but rather need to be available for the class periods, respond to emails and occasionally schedule student meetings.

    Cons

The stipend for one class alone is not sufficient to support living costs, however it is nice pocket change or savings. There is a limit as to how many credit hours you can teach per academic year.

The hiring process was not hard as I was a contractor trying to obtain new fitness classes. It did require a demonstration of my class performance and also a detailed resume of my fitness experience. Upon being hired, you will be required to provide your current fitness class certifications, your American Heart Association or Red Cross CPR certification, as well as professional liability insurance coverage.
