KGH is a wonderful place that is on the cutting edge of medicine, technology, and all healthcare disciplines. The people who work here are extremely kind and caring, and truly wish to see our patients do well and thrive. It is an egalitarian workplace that is fair and committed its patients, staff, visitors, and our community. I am proud to be part of this fantastic organization!

Honestly, the cons are relatively minor, and comparable to all healthcare organizations. The parking is difficult. For the staff, our leaders have tried their best to accommodate this by being fair about the spaces available, and provide transport to and from large parking lots outside KGH. The prices are low, and the buses are frequent. KGH has also worked with the city to provide several routes of express buses so that parking costs are minimal. I appreciate this.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be committed, present, and caring as you are now. The signage now is excellent, and upgrades like these, while they seem small, are actually a huge improvement.

    Difficult Interview

I applied through an employee referral – interviewed at Kingston General Hospital.

They were very careful about recruiting, as they still seem to be. The interview was professional, and both structured and casual. There were about 5 people there, and each one had relevant, brilliant questions. I was nervous, but they put me at ease.

    Interview Questions

not really. I asked for more more vacation time, because i had been in nursing for so long. moving is a disadvantage in that regard. they said that they will give me 5 weeks vacation at 5 years instead of 10, but they did not honour it. i was disappointed. they would not change the salary or vacation time.
