I worked at Kipling full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I built some very good friendships at this job. The money is okay if you're in high school or college. Most of the time the job doesn't require much out of you. Management is friendly and will go out of their way to work with your schedules.

    Cons

Corporate does not communicate or send product in a timely manner. Expect to work your butt off for days when they send in 300+ box shipment. Corporate appears to the retail stores as disorganized. They don't care about your stores needs at all, just about making money. No matter how hard you work, around a sale or holiday, there is NEVER enough time to prepare for a sale. OH and they LOVE to change markdowns the day before a sale. Which is illogical when you only have 2 people closing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leave your personal life at home. AND PROMOTE WITHIN THE STORE IF THERE ARE CLEARLY SEVERAL SALES ASSOCIATES WHO ARE QUALIFIED TO WORK AS A SALES LEAD! Working there for 2 years and being passed up on a promotion to someone outside the store is ridiculous and a waste of time (when it comes to training, the sales associate will know 85% of what a manager should know when first promoted).
