I have been working at Kmart part-time (less than an year)

Fast paced job. Nice coworkers. Hours are good for this position. Start early, finish early. Not very difficult and you have others helping you. Also don't have to deal with customers much.

The pay is kind of poor. The only positions are part-time. There's barely any room to move up into better positions. It's fine for a temporary job, but don't expect it to support a family so I'd only recommend this for college students or people with another part-time job already. It's also pretty disorganized and people get pissy if you forget how to do something.

    Neutral Outlook

I interviewed 2 times, once with front end manager and then with store manager. Both interviews were straight up normal interviews. ( what do you think good customer service is from beginning to end etc) I was then sent to drug test and background check was initiated through email.

Attention Kmart shoppers: Kmart is the #3 discount retailer in the US, behind Wal-Mart and Target. It sells name-brand and private-label goods (including its Joe Boxer and Jaclyn Smith labels), mostly to low- and mid-income families. About 270 Kmart stores sell home appliances (including Sears' Kenmore brand) and some 980 locations house in-store pharmacies. Poor sales have forced its parent, Sears Holdings Corp., to close 100 to 120 Kmart and... More
