    Negative Outlook

    Pros

The coworkers I interacted with were great, as were the administrative staff for the most part. There was always a lot going on, and sometimes they forgot to assist, but if they were reminded they helped.

    Cons

Students: The apathy, the lack of drive, the lack of aspiration, the sense of entitlement, the unwillingness to change

    Advice to Management

Change the culture as best you can, it will continue to carry over. The less than 10% (in my opinion) of students who are competent and want to be in school will be "dragged to the dark side" if something doesn't change. It's not alright to just pass them. Then they are released into the real world and live off of our tax dollars.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took a dayinterviewed at LEXINGTON CITY SCHOOLS (Lexington, NC) in August 2014.

    Interview

Short, one-day; hiring decision was made the same day. I was probably hired the same day because the school was quickly approaching the first day of school for the year. I was one of the last group of teachers hired before school started. I wish I hadn't made such a brash decision, but I needed a job. I should have researched the school report cards first.
