Current Employee - Resident Assistant in Lake Forest, IL

I have been working at Lake Forest College part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

You get to work with a professional staff, that is highly motivated, and willing to work with you on academic deadlines (school is a priority in everything you do here).

    Cons

The biggest challenge is trying to quantify community. This very subject idea is some times hard to plan for and show results to employer about your progress. However, rest assured some lagging indicators (damages, hallway presence, etc) will let you know if you are doing a good job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider increasing the pay for this position a little more (note that there are individuals that work really hard at this, and individuals who can fly by the radar without doing much). What always helps is having those 1-1s to find out what your resident assistants are up to in their communities.
