I worked at Lakeland Regional Medical Center full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed being a benefits consultant because I was able to help most patients apply for either Medicaid or the state issued medical insurance to help pay for their medical bills if they qualified.

    Cons

It was difficult at times when there would be one or more non-citizen patients that didn't qualify for any type of insurance to help pay their medical bills and most of them were low income families.

I am a new grad RN who is also new to the area. I applied online and was contacted the next week. First, I had an interview with the floor manager and team leader. I was called back for an interview with HR the following week and was offered the position.

    Interview Questions
    • The most difficult question for me as a new grad was, "tell me about a time when you brought a new idea to a supervisor and describe how it was implemented."   Answer Question
    Negotiation Details
Since I am a new grad, there wasn't any negotiation. They have a chart that outlines RN salary based on experience.
