Former Employee - Recruitment Manager in London, England (UK)

I worked at Lebara as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Lebara is one of those companies where you really don't know what the next day will bring. An exciting place to work with a young vibrant atmosphere. The company is absolutely flying and you can really feel the buzz everyday and I can only see this getting better.

    Cons

Due to the rapid growth it can be frustrating when trying to book a meeting room. One idea could be to designate certain meeting rooms to specific teams which can be managed easily by each team.

    Application Details

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 8+ weeks - interviewed at Lebara.

    Interview Details

2 interview with job offer immediate after second interview. Very few personal questions, no interest in my long term goals, clearly meant to be a short term role, which is what it ended up being. 2nd interview with senior manager who was much more capable and has now left which is a she because Lebara needs more people like him. I guess he didn't speak Hindi

    Interview Questions
    • Numerous very basic questions about SQL Server and CRM where interviewing manager clearly had no real understanding of the subject. Interviewer spoke broken English and was not a good communicator   View Answer
    Negotiation Details
Lebara refused to negotiate. Offered salary not paid until 6 months - this was not explained at interview.
    Accepted Offer

The Lebara Group was founded in 2001 by Leon R. Ranjith, Baskaran Kandiah and Ratheesan Yoganathan who shared a vision to transform the international calling market, making it easier for migrant communities to stay in touch with friends and family back home.

Inspired by the imposing sight of the Telenor building on the road to Bergen airport, the three partners made it their mission to build a company that would represent a range of different communities and would last for generations. More than ten years on, Lebara is one of Europe’s fastest growing mobile companies...
