LegalZoom – Why Work For Us?

About LegalZoom

Be a part of something big. And by that, we don't mean the biggest company out there. We're talking about big ideas, innovation and a team environment that thrives on making a difference in people's lives.

It's not often you find a company that allows you to feel good about the work you do and manages to have fun in the process–but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Balancing work and play isn't always easy to do, but we insist on it. Because at the end of the day, it's about making a difference and having a little fun along the way. That's what makes up our unique Zoomer culture.

We would not have been able to do what we do without our employees, and we always make sure all the hard work is appreciated.

Celebrate something

We're known to round up the crew for parties during the holidays, in honor of summer, and sometimes, just because.

Take a breath

Ours is a team culture that likes to break out of the office for sports days, summer outings, team events and more.

Have a food fest

Snacks are a big part of LegalZoom culture. We look forward to free bagels every Friday, birthday cake celebrations every month and plenty of free soda to go around all year long.

Be yourself

It's casual dress all the way. No ties or suits around here–unless you're planning on throwing in a sombrero.

undefinedTalent, experience, personality, orientation and cultures. These are the elements that make up diversity. We strive to seek out the best and the brightest from all walks of life, keeping in mind that it's the collective diversity within the company that fosters a dynamic, inclusive culture and empowers us to continuously innovate and connect with our customers.

Here are a few diverse facts about LegalZoom:

We have employees from all over the world

LegalZoom employees range in age from 19 to 60+ years young

We are proud of our ratio of males to females–with over 700 employees, we have 5 females for every 6 males

We have supported individuals forming groups for special events like Gay Days at Disneyland

LegalZoom has continuing workshops around issues such as sexual harassment and inclusion

Great mission, products, and culture. Benefits continue to improve. A lot of talented people and teams that work really well together. CEO is smart. Company has a bright future.

Some mis-alignment within the C-team. CMO is smart but tends to micromanages people inside and outside her department. Is challenging to work with and a source of frustration for many.

    Advice to Management

Continue the good work, but add senior leadership coaching to the mix

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at LegalZoom (Austin, TX) in July 2015.

One month passed after applying before I got an email offering an initial telephone screening. The recruiter I was talking to seemed rather uninterested from the get-go, and sounded like she had been through the same phone call a thousand times. It was a basic get-to-know-you interview. Towards the end she was talking at the speed of light about the position, who I'd be working with, salary structure...basically covered every single aspect of the job in a concise pitch. Although I usually always have questions; when asked if I had any further questions, I told her that she had covered everything very well and at the time she had answered all my questions. A possible fault on my part, but there really was nothing more to discuss that she hadn't clearly explained already. A day later I received a rejection email. Overall: I wish the recruiter had treated me more like an individual rather than just another call to get through.
