I have been working at Lighthouse Computer Services as a contractor (Less than a year)Neutral OutlookApproves of CEONeutral OutlookApproves of CEO
The Lighthouse Computer Service is very unique, innovative, and adaptive technology aware. The Lighthouse specializes in adaptive technology for the Visually Impaired and Blind community. The Lighthouse Computer Service stands as a huge landmark for those wish to return to work, college or those in need of college prep courses.
Due to previous budget constraints the Lighthouse has been forced to discontinue many of its supportive services, reduce its staff, and condense its offices. The budget changes has not only greatly affacted the constituents who attend the Lighthouse but it staff as well.
Advice to Management
My advice to Management would be to please budget wisely. Place a close eye on extravagant personal/business expenditures. Merg with other companies to regain the financial strength that The Lighthouse has once had. Encourage more constituents to undergo much needed services; healthcare, education; employment services.
Getting an Interview
Getting an Interview
- Declined OfferPositive ExperienceDifficult Interview
I applied online. The process took 2+ months – interviewed at Lighthouse Computer Services (Seattle, WA) in November 2011.
Multiple interviews with several different people. Very in depth yet casual, no gotcha questions or tricks. Initial skype interview consisted of questions about my work history and my interest in this company. Knowing what the company does and understanding the technology used there is important. The follow up interview was with the same person as the first and consisted of almost identical questions, company didn't seem to be prepared for this interview as panel of interviewers never showed or weren't needed.

Reasons for Declining
I got an offer for similar position with higher pay and easier commute. Both were swing shifts but the second offered a shift differential which amounts to about $8k more than this offer. Still a tough decision as this group seems like a great bunch of people.
