    Pros

Ability to impact change on a local level while leveraging national resources, staff are very intelligent, creative and committed.

    Cons

Program Officers involved in sustainable communities model are required to be experts in too many different areas. Negating the results that could be realized.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get involved beyond the times when there are problems. Connect to the local offices and stay grounded.

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 6+ weeksinterviewed at Local Initiative Support Corporation in October 2013.

    Interview Details

Initially I applied for a Director position but I received a phone call that they would like to consider me for another position. I was thrilled, a phone interview time/date was arranged with the consultant that LISC hired to select the candidate. The phone interview went well and I was notified via email that I had made it to the next step. This is when things started to go downhill.

The consultant and I could never agree on a time to meet. My schedule was flexible but with respect to my current employer I could not drop what I was doing to come and meet at moments notice. Finally the consultant scheduled a interview date/time at a coffee shop (which I thought was odd) the interview lasted about 90 min(s) with some pretty tough questions.

To this day I was never notified I did not get the job. I found out through an industry colleague they selected another candidate. Thanks for letting me know LISC!
