I have been working at Loretto Health & Rehabilitation Center

This is a great entry-level job for someone looking to go into healthcare. Loretto offers free college prep classes and tutoring at its Learning Center. After you have worked there awhile (it was 8 months for me, but it might be a year for newer employees, not sure) you are elgible to have tuition paid for college classes and for health insurance. Vacation accrues bases on how much you work. You can earn up to two weeks of vacation per year, if you work full-time.

Low pay - $10/hour, but this is normal for the industry, unfortunately. Work is hard -- bathing, dressing clients, making beds, keeping kitchen and bathroom clean, emptying trash. Making sure personal care products are in stock, escorting to busses and to and from dining rooms. There are a lot of people to take care of, and you can fun late with one if there are problems, and get backed up. If you have a family, you may find the insurance premiums are too high. If you're income-eligible, apply for medicaid; they often reimburse you for the insurance premium payments taken out of your checks. And if the pay is still too little, apply for food stamps. Or, work extra hours -- overtime at $15/hour is often available.
