Working with some of the most talented artists in the gaming development field who were inspiring, full of insight and passion, and truly in love with game development.

At least 6 months of excessive crunch on most titles. 80-100+ hour work weeks. This was entirely due to incompetent managerial decisions and clueless studio executives (all but 2..)

    Advice to Management

Figure out what game you are going to make in pre-production before you actually start development..

I applied online. The process took 2+ monthsinterviewed at LucasArts.

During a chat with the recruiter we scheduled an online test. I was given a set of math/programming questions and 3 hours of time I believe. The questions were relatively hard to finish in the allotted time as some of them (rendering ones) needed a fair amount of explanation. The next round was a phone call with technical lead, and then an onsite interview, which had a common structure - pairs of people (programmers, rendering people or tech artists) asking various questions (sometimes with white board).

    • One of the interviews went uncomfortably deep on C++ idiosyncrasies.   Answer Question

Lucasfilm Entertainment (which does business as LucasArts) produces games for computers and home video game consoles. Much of that source material is, of course, the "Star Wars" films created by Lucas. LucasArts has more "Star Wars" games than you can shake a lightsaber at and it also produces games based on Lucasfilm's successful trilogy of "Indiana Jones" films, as well as other titles such as the popular and acclaimed...
