    I have been working at MGO full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    In my experience so far, there are opportunities for growth and to prove yourself professionally. This is an environment where employees are given resources to receive help, but won't get their hands held. If you're ambitious and are motivated to shine, MGO would be a great place to prove yourself. Several promotions were given out this past July as well as raises, so it feels good to know that your efforts are rewarded professionally and monetarily. I really enjoy everyone I work with. The partners and employees have welcomed me and I have already developed strong relationships with several people here.

    Cons

    The benefits could be better but I hear that is being worked on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    My advice to management would be to keep giving continuous feedback and work on more goal setting with employees. Extra guidance always helps when trying to further your career.

    I applied through college or university – interviewed at MGO.

    Interview Details

    I applied through Campus Recruiting, which was relatively easy. First interview was on-campus and I was asked a few questions about what I did at different places I had worked, and how I overcame weaknesses. Most of the first round was ME asking lots of questions (so have quite a few prepared on hand).

     I heard back less than a week later about second round office interviews, about six candidates were at the office interviews and we were divided up into two groups and rotated between hearing about the firm, hearing about CPA requirements, and getting to ask questions to current employees, and finally actual one-on-one interviews with partners and managers. The partners and managers asked more detailed questions, less about my skills and job experience and more about me personally ("Describe yourself in three words." "What role do you play in a team?"). Afterwards we all went to lunch.
