    Pros

    1. Weekly clinical supervision supports questions, situations, politics.
    2. Military & Family Life Counselors (MFLC) licensed at Masters or Doctoral level are for the most part friendly, supportive, and informative.

    Cons

    1. Income ceiling is low for doctoral licensees.
    2. Much MFLC work is awaiting on-call walk-in or phone appointments.
    3. Much study involved in military culture, forms completion, administration, security, etc.

    Advice to Management

Assumptions are misleading, you need someone on the ground observing MFLCs working. In the absence of observation, anecdotal reports of Team leads and experienced MFLC mislead.
    2. When qualified individuals are not optimized, they move on. MHN is working blind as no one observes MFLC presentations.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at MHNet Specialty Services (Austin, TX) in July 2010.

    Interview

I was hired secondary to an employee referral and from what I heard, this made my interview process slightly different, meaning shorter. I submitted my resume to my future boss and then went in to fill out the standard job application. Due to having my resume on file, I interviewed at the same time I filled out the application (interview was already set up at that point). I interviewed with the boss then HR rep the same day. I had to wait about 2 - 3 weeks to hear back.

    Negotiation

I was new in my career so I didn't know to negotiate. But my feeling was, that wasn't an option anyways.
