allow us to introduce ourselves
Makosi is a consulting firm dedicated to getting projects done more efficiently and without the fanfare associated with the bigger consulting firms. We choose to focus on the meatier elements of project delivery, leaving the strategic and technical advisory pieces to the more expensive shops. Our strength is in delivering projects through well led teams of specialized project professionals. We work within financial services and the surrounding audit and regulatory environments.
The people we hire are self-motivated, have a strong sense of their personal and professional goals, and know what they want to get out of their careers. These people fit well into our model because they expect support, demand quality and relish an environment where innovative thinking is encouraged. What better people are there to serve than the people who use that service to the advancement of themselves, and ultimately, our firm?
We drive the ideal whereby a manager takes a very personal approach with his/her people and sees each one of them as a star performer, and the manager and coach of a top-notch professional team. Not only pushing them to exceed their best but also working behind the scenes to ensure they’re successful both on and off the field. Our main priority is to be here for them. Any other work on our agenda comes secondary.
While this model may make sense, it requires a shift in perspective, one where we see employment as a service to the employee, not the other way around. Our people understand that we expect excellence from them but also that they can expect excellence from us. We’re here to serve them and take a long-term view with them as part of Makosi Consulting’s next generation of servant leaders.

I have been working at Makosi full-time (More than 3 years)
From working at several large tier 1 banks where you are merely a number on a spreadsheet, it was refreshing to have your opinions heard and given the opportunity to run with them. When surrounded by people who continue to push their own envelope and in turn push their role within the company you naturally step up your game.
It can seem daunting to go from an environment of defined expectations to a world of 'you make of it what you will'. So be willing to ask questions, develop yourself and grow. It's hard work but ultimately far more rewarding
Advice to Management
I'm excited to see and be involved with the developments coming down the pipe line

I applied in-person. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Makosi (New York, NY) in May 2015.
Met with one of the partners. The interview was very short and up to the point. No silly questions such as "what is your biggest weakness". Mostly focused on whether or not one will be a good fit. The main focus tends to be on skills and overall client satisfaction. Overall interview experience was very positive. They are trying to guid their presence among investment banks.
