CEO & Co-Founder
Robin is the Chief Executive Officer and also one of the co-founders of MapMyFitness. Prior to MapMyFitness Robin worked in the investment management industry where he spent more than 14 years as a senior manager at a number of industry leading firms including Lipper, American Century Investments, and most recently, Wellington Management in Boston. During his time there he actively contributed to the development of many of the investment technology platforms and models that are widely employed by investment management professionals today. Robin has participated in endurance sports all his life and he still competes in USCF sanctioned masters bicycle races. Notably, Robin rode as professional cyclist for the Swiss Helvetica-Lugano team for four years. Robin attained his B.S. in Finance from the Metropolitan State College of Denver, and then went on to earn an M.S. in Finance from the University of Colorado Denver.
Vice President, Innovation Strategy & Co-Founder
Kevin, co-founder of MapMyFitness, created the original MapMyRun to help him map and record the runs he completed over the course of his training for his first marathon. In 2006, he teamed up with Jeff Kalikstein and Robin Thurston to form MapMyFitness and envisioned the launch of a wide variety of fitness related websites aimed at empowering individuals to live healthy and active lifestyles. Before his foray into the fitness industry Kevin was Lead Architect at SiteLab; VP Technology at Universal Travel Insurance; Director of Development at PopStick. Kevin attended Johns Hopkins where he received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
Chief Financial Officer
Leslie joined MapMyFitness in 2010 when the company moved its corporate headquarters to Austin, TX. She brings more than 20 years of corporate finance and management experience to MapMyFitness having served in high-growth public and private companies such as Moxie Software, AlterPoint, Inc., BMC Software, Inc., and Computer Sciences Corporation. Leslie received her B.B.A from Texas A&M University and is a Texas Certified Public Accountant.
Chief Product Officer
Cliff Drane is the Chief Product Officer for MapMyFitness, responsible for the strategic vision for web and mobile channels, as well as design and user experience across the company. Prior to MapMyFitness, he was a Group Creative Director at Razorfish where over the course of six years he helped lead four of the largest accounts, including AT&T, where he led the team that redesigned ATT.com, JCPenney, leading eight seasons worth of interactive marketing for online and digital out-of-home, and Samsung, leading product launch marketing and social experiences for the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S3.
As General Manager, Chris is responsible for the Consumer line of business including the MVP subscription, mobile purchases, and all digital and physical goods offered by MapMyFitness. Chris has a deep background in mobile product, marketing, and location based applications. Chris joined MapMyFitness in 2010, after serving as head of Product Management at Useful Networks (a Liberty Media company). He spent the first 6 years of his career at Accenture, after graduating from Colorado College in 1998, and is based in Denver, CO.
Vice President, Engineering
Jesse is the Vice President, Engineering and is responsible for all engineering development at MapMyFitness. He’s been with MapMyFitness since September 2010. Prior to joining the team, Jesse led engineering at Useful Networks (a Liberty Media company) and was also a technical lead at Intuit and Openwave. Jesse has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University and is based in Denver, CO.
Director of Client Services
As head of the MapMyFitness Services business, John is responsible for driving customer success across the web, mobile and API product offerings. John has over 15 years of client-facing services experience across global consulting, large enterprise, and rapid growth start-up environments. Prior to joining MapMyFitness in 2012, John held leadership positions at Demand Media (formerly Pluck), Dell, Inc., and Accenture. John received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas and is based in Austin, TX.
