I have been working at Market of Choice

I've worked for Market of Choice for several years and have really enjoyed it. The food in the Kitchen and Bakery is excellent, and the crew has a lot of fun working together. There are new stores being built over the next few years which provides lots of advancement potential. The Foodie Field Trips for food service employees are really fun as well. These are trips to farms and restaurants to taste and learn about local products. The pay and benefits overall are good too.

Few cons that I can think of. Seriously. Many people I know throughout the company have been working here for several years because it's a good place to work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More structure and communication between departments would be helpful. Each store kind of does its own thing, some good, some not.

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 1+ weekinterviewed at Market of Choice in September 2014.

    Interview Details

The overall process took about a week and a half from application submission to post interview call-back. I applied online for a new unopened location twice. A couple days later, I got a call from someone working HR at another location and was interviewed over the phone. She followed up with scheduling an in-person interview. The interview was very simple and basic as far as interviews go, just practice the typical questions they would ask. They did ask a lot of questions regarding work/coworker problems and confrontations which was a little strange. Anyways, after the interview, I got a call a couple days later making an offer which I accepted. Immediately that day, they scheduled my drug test and training orientation seminar.

Because the location I applied at was not yet opened, they had several positions for me to choose from. I originally applied for Barista, but was stuck with Courtesy Clerk.

    Negotiation Details
There was no negotiation really, they offered the position and said you will be paid this "x" amount of dollars/hour. However, the wage is a lot higher than minimum wage and much more than I had expected for the job so it works out okay.
