    I worked at Max Planck Institute full-time


    Lots of people doing great research whom you can work with and learn a lot. Great work-life balance, lots of holidays. I had a very encouraging team whom I could approach to clarify things.


    Salary not as high as industry standards.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Encourage people to work in research institutions, many young people just leave to go work in industry.

    I applied online. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at Max Planck Institute in May 2011.

    Interview Details

    Three rounds in the application - online application, panel presentation and one to one interview. Quite tough and they generally ask questions related to your past project and CV. Mostly looking intelligent people with high level of motivation for research. They generally look for good research experience. Apply to the researcher, which suits your past research experience. Please don't apply to everyone. In one to one interview, mention them how you will be useful to the research group and why you want to join them.
