Analytical

The main role of our Ratings Analysts is to gather information, prepare statistical analyses and compile financial exhibits for use in analytic research and reports, in association with developing credit ratings for debt issues.  The path for analysts begins with our Research Assistant role, which requires an undergraduate degree, preferably in finance, math, statistics, economics, accounting, or other business-related majors.  Post-MBA careers start with the Ratings Associate position. Associates meet with and manage relationships with senior executives of Fortune 1000 companies and are tasked with preparing credit analyses, monitoring and responding to credit, responding to inquiries from investors and media contacts, publishing topical commentaries, and speaking at industry conferences.

Information Technology

Our IT team is a crucial component of everything we do at Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services. Our entry-level Application Developers design and develop industry-leading applications to support key business needs.  Candidates must have financial industry background and will participate in day-to-day operational support, design, development, code reviews, unit testing, and deployment tasks. 

Other avenues of IT careers include:

• Business Systems Analysts in the Business Architecture department;
• Project Administrator roles in Program Management;
• Database Administrators on the Information Architecture side of the house;
• and QA and Security positions.
