McKinley Leadership Development

New leaders participate in an orientation and development program tailored for them. The program is based on interaction and a partnership with your supervisor, peers, and Human Resources Development.

When joining McKinley in a leadership role, you will be exposed to many developmental offerings to help new leaders ensure success. We not only encourage new leadership to experience the leadership development curriculum but also encourage employees that have an interest in pursuing a career in leadership to attend as well.

Every employee of McKinley is expected to drive their own development in conjunction with their leadership. In order to drive your own development, leaders are encouraged to create individual development plans. In addition, all McKinley leadership go through an annual goal setting process to make sure that each person fulfills their developmental goals. In addition, McKinley's leadership teams set quarterly goals to stay on track with their goals in a manageable fashion.

Maintenance Career Ladder

Every employee of McKinley is able to drive their own development in conjunction with their leadership. In order to drive their own development, employees are encouraged to create individual development plans. The development plans are specific learning opportunities that allow maintenance professionals to gain an enhanced skill set. The Maintenance Curriculum is built around the career ladder, which is designed to move maintenance professionals forward in their career with McKinley. In order to achieve the next level on the career ladder, employees need to build skills and / or certifications in particular areas. Those areas are clearly defined within the ladder.

McKinley Sales Ladder

Every employee of McKinley is able to drive their own development in conjunction with their leadership. In order to drive their own development, employees are encourage to create individual development plans. The development plans are specific learning opportunities that allow sales professionals to gain an enhanced skill set. The Sales Curriculum is built around the career ladder, which is designed to move sales professionals forward in their career with McKinley. In order to achieve the next level on the career ladder, employees need to build skills, knowledge, and abilities in particular areas. Those areas are clearly defined within the ladder.

The Educational Assistance Program

McKinley helps pay tuition for courses at accredited institutions of post-secondary education and state licensed vocational schools. The purpose of the program is to allow employees to prepare for other opportunities with McKinley and to further develop in their current positions.

    I have been working at McKinley, Inc. full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Coming to work for McKinley was the best choice I ever made. I love everything about my job. I get to work with great people, we have support from our leaders, the pay is great and the benefits are very good. We've gotten early bonuses for great NOI results and they do a good job of recognizing us for our hard work. I'm planning on retiring from McKinley.

    Cons

    I don't think there cons, but you definitely will work hard. Managers are held to very high standards and that's why the pay is so high. It is hard work but it is very rewarding. We get to make real decisions and a real impact on the communities and the praise from the residents is worth it. Reading these reviews on here from people that left the one thing I can say is you either love it or hate it. There hasn't been one person I've worked with who has left or been fired that didn't make sense to me. McKinley is definitely different but I love working here. Just know your gonna work hard and that's why the interview process is so hard, the pay is high, and the opportunity to move up and show yourself off is there.
