PRINCIPLES THAT GUIDE OUR RELATIONSHIPS

The national medical plans are PPO networks giving you access to the largest national networks of physicians available, plus direct access to a full range of specialists. You have the option of choosing the best network and payment structure for you and your family. McLane supplements a large portion of the premiums for medical insurance.

Retirement Plans

McLane offers a 401(k) or Roth 401(k) Profit Sharing Plans, which has had a generous (discretionary) match for the past several years. Eligibility begins after you have completed 90 days of service. In general, you may defer 1% to 50% of your salary on a bi-weekly basis.

Life Insurance

Full-time teammates are provided, at no cost, basic term life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance in the amount of one times your salary (with a minimum of $30,000 and a maximum of $50,000). You have the option to purchase additional life insurance for you, your spouse and your child(ren).

McLane’s short-term disability coverage provides partial income protection if you become disabled and cannot work due to a non-work-related injury or illness.

Educational Assistance

In helping you pursue your educational goal, you are eligible for up to a maximum of $3,000 per calendar year in reimbursement of tuition and books. Courses eligible for reimbursement are those that will benefit you in your position or career with the company and will lead to an academic degree, certification or license.

I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks - interviewed at McLane Company.

    Interview Details

As with most of the jobs, I applied online. I can't remember at this time if after I completed the application the system asked me for a test (I have applied for a lot of jobs recently and most of them require you to pass some kind of test about actitude and skills). Expect some kind of test anyway because it seems it's becoming a standard in the jobmarket. You won't have the chance for an interview if you don't pass the tests. Most of the times you don't have to take it inmediately, but you will have a frame of time for doing it.
They schedule 4 people including me for interview at the same time. It had a logic: The HR manager (by the way, a very friendly person) explained us the hiring process, about the company and some general policies. After that, that manager interview individualy each of us. It was a friendly interview (no questions as a Middle Age inquisitor...). After that, I are interviewed by your future supervisor. This one was very friendly and allows you to explain in details all your answers without interrupt you and walk with you to show you, if hired, where you will work.
That same day, you finish with the HR Manager to complete some paper work for a phisical test, background and drugs.
Once they get the result of the investigations, you'll be called to orientation.
IT HAS BEEN A VERY EASY PROCESS FOR ME.
