I worked at Miami Dade College part-time

Student Assistants (SA) are put in a professional environment where they can observe and learn from an academic setting. By working with professors, administrators and advisers; SA's will develop needed skills to succeed in academia. This includes what is expected of you both in appearance and education. As well as what environment and scenarios you will deal with on a day to day basis.

Student Assistants work in a particular department with in the college and therefore will only observe how that particular department operates. For example, I worked in the Engineering and Technology department. This attracts professors and students with vary similar personalities and interest. This will change the feel and environment of each department.

I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Miami Dade College (Miami, FL) in August 2015.

First interview was technical. Three interviewers. Alternate process and technical questions. Questions not so hard. Very professional. Called about a month after resume submitted. Interview was short. To be followed be interview with hiring manager.
