Imagine Success Every Day

Great things happen when talent and preparation combine. We’re a group of sharp, diverse thinkers who believe in an endgame of facilitated change through exceptional software -- and breaking convention to get there. After all, seeing in new ways is the only path to imaginative success, and that means having fun while doing what you do best.

Balanced, enterprising, spirited: how we work reflects our company’s mission to innovate and succeed collectively.

WORK TO LIVE

We have a strong belief in maintaining a work/life balance. With our waterfront offices at the beautiful Levi’s Plaza, coming to work is a daily pleasure. Have lunch outside in the pastoral park or choose from a variety of great restaurants just steps away, including access to the Levi’s café. Mindjet also offers daily breakfast options, and caters lunch three days a week for employees.

HEALTH MATTERS

Aside from generous health, vision, dental, and commuter benefits, our employees enjoy weekly yoga classes and special membership offers from the Bay Club, located just one block away.

WE’RE ALL ABOUT FUN

Break time can mean a game of ping-pong or darts, enjoying the office wine and cheese happy hour, or racing a co-worker to the top of Coit Tower at lunch. Keeping work creative and dynamic means taking time out to recharge perspective, and with twelve paid company holidays (in addition to standard employee PTO) employees have the time to step away and enjoy life.

I have been working at Mindjet full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Office culture, good people, competitive benefits, decent amount autonomy allowed by management in your work. Nice perks like free lunches, coffee and snacks, good work/life balance, and an excellent office location. Actual revenue and recognized products add some stability to working at a pre-IPO tech company.

    Cons

Slow to backfill needed positions (understandable to limit spending, I guess), internal conflicts and grandstanding in management after acquiring Spigit, somewhat limited potential for professional growth within the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to focus on making products better and more appealing to a wider audience. Don't forget about MindManager, and drive hard to bring it up to speed with modern apps.

    Application Details

I applied through other source. The process took 6+ weeksinterviewed at Mindjet in March 2013.

    Interview Details

    I applied, received no response.
3 months later I was approached by a recruiter they had hired for the search.
    Excellent rapport with the recruiter.
Telephone interviews with recruiter, then VP of Marketing + Director of Channels.
3 hours of in person interviews.
Nice group of people, interesting job.
They "rescoped" the position and hired a completely different skillset.
It was only through my repeated contact with the recruiter was I able to find out, 2 weeks later, that as a final round candidate I had not been made aware of the business change or elimination of the position.
