MobileIron – Why Work For Us?

Do you have Mobile on your resume?

Mobile is hot. But you already knew that (just look in your pocket).

It’s a great time to be in enterprise mobility. We have embraced mobile phones in our personal lives. Now, we’re bringing them to work.
One billion mobile devices at work.*

At MobileIron, we’re feeling the burn. We have served 6,000 customers since we were founded in 2007. We recently went public. Do you have Mobile on your resume?

Life at MobileIron

We move at the speed of Mobile. Employees work in an innovative, fast-paced environment with room to grow and follow their passions.

The Platform For Mobile IT

MobileIron was founded to bring simplicity to the chaos of mobility. Mobile will become the preferred communications and computing platform for end users to do their work. However, mobile introduces cost, risk, and usability challenges that traditional IT strategies cannot address. MobileIron’s approach is to simplify the problem by providing a complete security and management platform for mobile apps, docs, and devices that preserves the native experience for end users. We call this Mobile IT.

MobileIron lets enterprises, educational institutions, and government:

Protect data
Mobilize apps and content
Preserve user experience and privacy

MobileIron gives IT the confidence that sensitive data will not be lost, while enabling the business to mobilize its workflow and end users to do their jobs more effectively. MobileIron’s customers are transforming their organizations through mobility. From day one, MobileIron’s focus has been 100% customer success through innovation leadership, customer support, and best practice development.

MobileIron was founded in Fall 2007 with the belief that mobility would fundamentally change every business process in an organization. When MobileIron Version One was launched two years later it introduced several innovations, including the first mobile enterprise app storefront and the first BYOD controls for selective wipe and privacy. Since then, thousands of organizations have selected MobileIron as the platform for their mobile strategies, making the company the leading global provider of Mobile IT solutions for security and management. MobileIron is headquartered in Mountain View, California in the heart of Silicon Valley, with global offices in China, Germany, Hyderabad, Japan, Netherlands, Singapore, Sydney, and United Kingdom.

I have been working at MobileIron full-time (More than a year)

-Upper management has open door policy -Receptive to new ideas -Fellow engineers are at the top of their field -If they see something's broken they fix it quickly -Excellent exec sponsors shield you from BS so you can do your job -Overall Compensation, from what I've heard, since going public has actually improved and they are being very fair when leveling roll-over packages of existing employees.

Tend to listen to the customer a bit too much when iterating. But we're steering towards a better balance.

    Advice to Management

Keep the all-hands meetings. Very inspirational and, as an engineer, it's difficult for me to rub elbows so this gentle push is very effective.

    Difficult Interview

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at MobileIron (Mountain View, CA) in May 2015.

I applied on LinkedIn, recruiter reached out and setup two skype interviews with the hiring director and one with an engineer on team. The skype sessions went well and most of the questions are on data structures and algorithms. A week later they called me onsite which had 5 technical rounds. 4 of them are general software engineering i.e design, datastructures, algorithms and the last one was iOS specific interview. The questions were pretty hard. especially some questions, I have never seen them on any websites like geeks4geeks, careercup ,etc.
