Alastair Lukies - CEO, Monitise plc

Alastair has a proven track record of turning visions and concepts into real businesses. He founded Monitise in 2003. Three years later, Monitise was recognised as a ‘Technology Pioneer’ by the World Economic Forum and in June 2007 Alastair led the company’s demerger from Morse and listing on the LSE's AIM market.

In January 2014, Alastair was appointed as a Business Ambassador for the financial services industry by the UK Government. He was named Non-Executive Chairman of fintech industry body, Innovate Finance, at its launch in August 2014. Alastair was awarded a CBE for services to mobile banking and charity in June 2014, and was named Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2011 Growing Business Awards.

Prior to conceiving, financing and successfully building Monitise, Alastair was a co-founder of, the portal for Westminster, Whitehall and the devolved institutions. Alastair leads key relationships with partners, industry stakeholders and major shareholders, plus corporate development for the global Monitise business.

Elizabeth Buse - CEO, Monitise Group

Elizabeth leads Monitise’s day-to-day operations, including technology, product, sales and marketing. A seasoned payments executive, Elizabeth joined Monitise in June 2014, having held various executive positions at Visa Inc. from 1998 to 2014, most recently running its international operations as Executive Vice President of Solutions. Prior to that she was Visa Inc.’s Group President of Asia Pacific, Central Europe, Middle East and Africa; Global Head of Product;Executive Vice President of Product Development and Management and Executive Vice President of Emerging Markets & Technologies, leading all aspects of product strategy, development and growth.

Prior to joining Visa in 1998, Elizabeth served as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for the Electronic Funds Division of First Data Corp. Elizabeth also serves as a Director at International Museum of Women and was a Director of Artio Global Investors Inc. from September 2009 to January 2013.

Lee Cameron - Deputy CEO & Chief Commercial Officer

Lee is Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Commercial Officer at Monitise and has been a member of the group’s Board since 2008. He is responsible for Monitise's legal and commercial activities and oversees the company's corporate development and M&A strategy. Lee has been associated with Monitise since its foundation and joined as a full-time employee in 2006 as General Counsel.

Called to the Bar in 1998, Lee later transferred to become a solicitor and was Legal Director at Morse plc, a FTSE 250 technology company, prior to joining Monitise. With extensive global experience in managing commercial and corporate cross-border transactions, Lee ensures Monitise continues to maximise the value of its Mobile Money network to the benefit of all participants.

Brad Petzer - Chief Financial Officer

Brad joined Monitise as Chief Financial Officer in 2013. He previously worked at TelecityGroup plc, a FTSE 250 company, where he was the Group’s Financial Controller. At Telecity Brad supported the business through its Main Market listing on LSE and was responsible for the Group’s reporting, planning, policies, risk and control.

Prior to Telecity Brad held senior finance roles at Create Services, an online credit card provider and part of Lloyds Banking Group, and other technology companies. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Peter Radcliffe - President, EMEA and AP

Peter has overall responsibility for Monitise’s activity within Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. He is also a Board Director of Movida, Monitise’s joint venture with Visa Inc. in India.

He has held senior executive positions in four FTSE 100 and Fortune 250 bank and IT companies. Peter's entrepreneurial responsibilities have covered global and regional territories, with a period of two years in Hong Kong as MD First Data Asia Pacific.

Peter has been involved with the Centre for Entrepreneurship at the London Business School for the past ten years, and is a former President of its Enterprise 100 which is the business group investing in and mentoring the MBA students and School alumni. 

Mike Dreyer - President, Americas

Mike is responsible for Monitise’s business in the Americas. He joined Monitise in August 2014 to oversee all sales activity and major accounts spanning the US, Canada and Latin America. Prior to Monitise, Mike was Chief Information Officer, Global Head of Technology at Visa Inc.

Before that, Mike was CIO of Inovant, where he oversaw the development and management of Visa’s global systems technology. He also held executive positions at VISA USA as Senior Vice President of processing and emerging products, and Senior Vice President of commercial solutions. Mike has been on the Board of Directors of F5 Networks (NASDAQ) an application delivery network (ADN) and security technology company since October 2012.  

Prior to that, Mike held senior roles at American Express, Prime Financial, Inc., Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Downey Savings, Bank of America, and the Fairmont Hotel Management Company.

Will Jones - Managing Director, EMEA and AP

Will is responsible for Monitise’s strategic accounts in Europe and for new business and operations throughout the EMEA and AP region. He previously held the position in Monitise of managing the Group’s relationship with RBS Group. He has over 20 years' experience in Financial Services roles including exec positions within Retail, Private and Wealth management. He was on the executive team that launched Egg, the UK’s first internet bank, and followed that up with Programme Director and COO roles at Egg Invest and Funds Direct respectively.

Following two years external consulting with M&S Money and Santander, Will was accountable for setting up and running an innovation function within RBS Retail, followed by a spell implementing the Bank’s Retail Transformation Programme.

Tom Spurgeon - Company Secretary

Tom is Company Secretary of Monitise and brings over 15 years of financial management experience, including audit, financial planning and controllership, gained over several industries.

A Cambridge graduate and Chartered Accountant, Tom trained with Price Waterhouse. Prior to joining Monitise, Tom spent five years as UK Finance Director of IT services and technology company Morse.

    Great leader in mobile technology; Has solid legacy product and platform and as well as emerging technologies as products evolve.
    Talented team that is highly collaborative; no egos here and fun, competent people to work with


    We work hard - there is a lot to get done so its intense during the work day. Most people, however don't pull too much overtime so work/life balance is good.
    We are experiencing a lot of change as the company pivots in response to new execs, clear vision and evolving strategy - the changes are essential and very confidence inspiring, but there is a lot of change, which not everyone responds to well.

    Thank you for some of the recent organizational and directional changes.
    Continue to listen to the employees (great start with the company-wide employment sentiment survey)
    Keep everyone updated throughout the year as these changes are implemented; we want to know and row hard toward success.

    Complete Lack of Common Courtesy

    I was contacted by HR on LinkedIn asking for my resume which I sent. I then sent a follow up email to inquire about where things were and got no reply. So I sent another email just in case my first one got trapped as spam and got no reply again.

    If you reach out to someone and express an interest at least have some courtesy and decency to reply back. Companies like this with no regard to manners should be avoided at all cost.
