    Pros

The people on the software team and the software manager are great. The hours are pretty flexible; there are some people who occasionally work from home, come in late, etc. The atmosphere is pretty laid back and casual.

    Cons

Often working on multiple projects at the same time. Upper management and project management aren't in sync with engineering. Currently not a lot of project management happening.

    Advice to Management

Start listening to your engineers and start giving them the high level direction they want and need. Project Managers should be in sync with engineering, not the opposite.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeksinterviewed at Multi-Tech Systems (Mounds View, MN) in June 2014.

    Interview

I was moving from out of state and sent out resumes a couple months ahead of time. Multi-Tech contacted me and schedule an initial 40 min phone interview with the HR director to gather more information. A few weeks later, they contacted me to schedule a phone interview with the Engineering director and product support manager. However, I was visiting MN that week and so we had the interview in person. The interview was very relaxed and did not include very many of the typical interview questions ("tell us about your", etc).

    Negotiation

The HR director was very nice, easy to talk to, and very informative. I was not able to negotiate the salary. It seemed like they really, really wanted me, and so gave me the very best salary in the offer that they could.
I was able to negotiate Paid Time Off from the normal starting of 10 days/year up to 16 days/year.
