Mutual Mobile – Why Work For Us?

Mutual Mobile is an emerging tech agency that builds breakthrough products for a more connected world.

By finding the sweet spot between technologies, people, and brands, we unleash previously impossible value.

Breakthrough products delight people, push technological boundaries, and redefine markets. Building them is more than what we do — it’s why we live.

Here, R&D isn’t a department, it’s a way of life. We eat, sleep, and breathe emerging technology. We hack, tinker, explore, and experiment daily — and share our findings along the way.

We create close-knit, best-in-class teams of passionate people who actively collaborate with clients to gather cross-discipline perspectives. We cut through the clutter to identify what matters to the audience, what drives value for the business, and what pushes technology.

We are user-centered, pro-prototype and anti-hype. When we see a breakthrough opportunity, we invest in substantiating ideas. We embrace the unfinished, pursuing perfection one iteration at a time.

We put working prototypes in front of people as quickly as possible. We learn by listening, observing, and analyzing behaviors. We push to make the prototype more useful, more usable, and more desirable — then put it in front of people again. Constant iteration places users at the center of our design process.

I have been working at Mutual Mobile full-time (More than a year)

After going through some growing pains and hard times, Mutual Mobile is finally in a place where it can maintain excellence and attract top talent. Recently renovated facilities are awesome, culture is better than it has ever been, you're around some of the best minds in the business, benefits are excellent and going to work is a joy and a challenge (in a good way). And in a tech world where sexism and a complete lack of respect from upper management seems to be the norm, that is absolutely not how it is here. Everyone respects each other and the CEO's upper management interact regularly with every employee.

It's been hard to tell what the ladder may be in your position, but that seems to be getting smoothed out. Some departments are treated better than others.

Keep on doing what you're doing.

Apple Watch vs Pebble Time: an iOS dev's first impressions

Prior to the release of the Apple Watch, I'd worn a Pebble for about two years and loved it from the start. The SDK and development tools started out decently and improved dramatically over time, making it easier for developers to create more interesting watch faces and apps for the platform.
