I worked at NY State Senate as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Got to work with lots of interesting people. Very educational experience as well. Got to learn a lot about state legislature and the political workings of the office.

    Cons

I really can’t remember any cons about the internship. Maybe there were a few people that were not shut me out when I was canvasing and phone banking but its normal for most jobs that entail that sort of work.

Typical interview, no really tough questions. Just asked about background, education, and past experiences. There were no situational questions or anything too tricky. Then asked about salary and all of that. Definitely read about politic and what is currently going on in New York politics to be able to talk and strike up a conversation on that.
