I worked at National Conference of State Legislatures as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Great organization with terrific values. Really enjoyed working with management and coworkers - everyone was knowledgeable and intelligent. The culture was extremely kind and respectful.

    Cons

No problems as an employee. As an organization, however, they make too many compromises to remain a neutral party, often passing up great opportunities to contribute a more useful, actionable recommendation to legislators. I think this limits their overall utility and value to legislators. You can present balanced opinions and suggestions while remaining neutral.
