For part-time, the hours are ok. Job stress is relatively low, but there is a lot to learn. HR got back to me very quickly after I applied and entire process was very quick.
Depending on how the management is at a particular branch, you can have a positive or negative experience. Mine unfortunately was somewhat negative. I did not click with my head teller. Lots of details and regulations you must be aware of. Formal teller training is dreadfully slow-paced
Advice to Management
More positive feed. I barely received any. Plenty of negative feedback, though. Hopefully the new merger with First Niagara will push things in the right direction.

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at NewAlliance Bancshares (Storrs Mansfield, CT) in June 2010.
After I applied online on the bank's site, I got contacted relatively shortly by the HR staff, asking me to come in for a first interview. After I went to that, they referred me for a second interview at the branch with the branch manager and head teller 2 business days later. The next day, they gave me an offer.
