Former Employee - Materials Manager in Denver, CO

I worked at Newmont Mining full-time for more than a year

Good people, good work environment, keeps abreast of latest trends in work management, good benefits
    Strong business processes.

Became a larger organisation during period of increasing gold price, with many roles not necessary.
Large Head office and regional offices duplicating effort and diluting direction.
Due to detailed of business processes can lead to lack of responsive to opportunities.

    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I applied through a recruiter - interviewed at Newmont Mining in April 2012.

    Interview Details

Long, drawn out process. I had to create a powerpoint presentation and present it, but people didn't really have time to listen or care. Waste of time. One person simply asked questions off of a sheet, which are the standard questions. Others were more engaged, which is why I finally got the job.
