I worked at Notre Dame of Maryland University part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Student workers on campus are a boon to the campus and the student. There are a variety of options and hours are flexible. I worked in the career center and gained valuable administrative skills. It was convenient to work on campus. The pay was not high, but more than minimum wage. Overall, a good opportunity for a student to gain experience and extra money. Campus is in a great location.

    Cons

The cons are very minor. The administrative at NDM is not well-organized and it occasionally causes problems or issues. Student workers, however, are only minimally effective by this dysfunction. Also, this is an impression from several years ago. The president of the university is new and things could be smoother.

    Application Details

I applied through other source. The process took 5+ monthsinterviewed at Notre Dame of Maryland University in March 2009.

    Interview Details

The initial interview was excellent. The three-member interview panel was well prepared and the conversation was professional and engaging. I was called back for an on-campus interview, one of three finalists. The on-campus interview, which took a full day, also went very well. The interview with the entire department faculty was informative, professional and was a positive and satisfying experience regardless of the outcome. The Academic Dean, however, was quite rude.
