NuSil 1.0 is a joke. I have hope for NuSil 2.0, if the executives can get the dinosaurs to think outside of the box.

I have been working at NuSil Technology full-time

Good location, steady income, benefits, some genuinely good people that want to improve things and work together. The new suits at the top seem to know how to run a real chemical company and they are actively engaged in fixing those problems addressed by most of the reviewers.

Pay is not up to industry standards. Change is slow, lots of problems left over from NuSil 1.0 mainly: micromanaging and retaliation, buzz words with no official definition (validation, reproducibility etc.), antiquated equipment, management that doen't really know how use the scientific method (authority holds more weight than data/expertise).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper Management: Keep on your current path, the cream always rises. Start paying your employees a little better.

Middle Management: Get out of the stone age. Focus on solving real problems that are affecting the bottom line and not silly little kid stuff (This is kind of a moot point since the introduction of the new flat management model but the attitude is still engrained into the culture).

    Interview Details

After the initial application online I had a phone interview. I was then brought in for a 1 on 1 interview and took a relatively easy skills test.It tested basic reading comprehension, math skills etc. The interview was fairly typical. They asked about past experience education, what you would bring to the organization. A week or two later I was offered a position which I accepted.
