We're a passionate group of people who believe that cloud architecture is here to stay.

We learned a lot while creating the largest on-demand enterprise companies, and we're putting that knowledge to good use as we build the next generation of corporate IT. It's a fast-paced, agile work environment and we need the best and the brightest to help us change the world.

We're looking for talented, highly-motivated individuals to join our engineering, product, sales, marketing, customer success and business development teams. Building and selling the future of IT is no small feat - you love challenges, work hard, play nice with others - and if you know your way around a ping pong table, that doesn’t hurt either.

We believe that cloud architecture is here to stay. We know the problems enterprise IT teams are facing. And our laser-like focus on customer success and technical/operational excellence has enabled us to be an identity management leader in our market. And we’re just getting started.

We surround our engineering efforts with sales, marketing, professional services, and support staff that care deeply about the customers we serve.

Okta isn't easy. It's a place for proven professionals and innovators who want to be challenged. You have to be hungry to be here. The folks who come on Glassdoor and complain about management (instead of having a meaningful dialog with their managers), complain about the stress, the fact that they have to walk a half mile to the BART, or whine about the free food weren't cut out for the type of advanced employee-ownership that successful start-ups like Okta demand. They weren't right for Okta -- some of them have left, and that's a good thing. Not everyone makes the cut for the Navy SEALS either. If you're hungry and want to be a champion, then we want you!

We need to keep our eyes on the ball and don't let the drama of a few who don't have the intestinal fortitude to hack it here distract us.

    Advice to Management

Be more selective about the personalities that we hire -- mostly, we have the best of the best here, from Sales to Engineering to Product and on. Let's keep it that way.

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Okta (San Francisco, CA) in September 2015.

Interview process started with a recruiter reaching out to me through my linkedin profile. After a round of phone interview, I was invited for a on-site interviews at seattle/ bellevue office. The interviews were pretty standard for software engineering position. I was asked coding questions, questions related to my past projects as well as some system design questions. After these rounds, I was asked to visit headquarters at SFO. During the day, I met around 7-8 people including CTO of the company. For most part, I would say interview questions were straight forward and people were fun and easy to talk to. The only negative for me was the outcome of the interview and the feedback that followed along the lines of "we don't have level of challenge that you are looking for" - which I found strange considering 1. I was really upfront about type of opportunities I was looking and made sure the recruiter is aware of it at every stage of the interview. 2. Okta being relatively young company, its bit hard to believe they don't have "challenges". Overall I would say the experience was positive and I would highly recommend the company to anyone interested in identity management cloud based solutions.
