I worked at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good pay, good people, interesting investment philosophy. Get to contribute even at junior levels. Management selects only the best candidates.

    Cons

The hierarchy can be difficult to deal with at times. Overly bureaucratic and politically correct atmosphere. Location is keeping a lot of very good candidates from even bothering to apply, as you can get similar comp at any downtown shop. Consider splitting non investment staff to stay uptown and investment downtown.

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.

    Interview Details

Applied online. Did a quick HR interview on phone, then was asked to come in for another 30 mins HR interview and an hour with the Chief Compliance Officer. HR interviewer was extremely nice. Acted like I already had the job. The CCO had about 3 pages of average to difficult questions including highlight of your career. She wasn't too warm or friendly. Her interview approach was too rigid - more questions and answers than getting to know the interviewee on a natural level. Most of the time was spent with her face down writing the answers to her questions.
