Even after only working here a couple weeks I found myself presenting to one of my favorite websites and they loved what we had to offer. That's happened a lot since then and working to make a better video experience on the sites I use, and my friends and family use every day, is hardly work at all! The office is 7,670sqft, with 35+ employees. We are between SOHO and Covenant Garden, next to the Theatre District. Lots of great pubs and restaurants in walking distance. We are 8 min walk to Covenant Garden station and 10 min walk to charing cross train station.

    I have been working at Ooyala full-time


    I was treated really well in the interview. 3 months in and I am still getting the same treatment. The CEO likes to say 'we work hard so that we can play hard' which has proven to be very true. All the great perks you'd expect from a tech company of Ooyala's caliber including: * Beer on tap in the lunch room * Cafeteria open 24/7 with catered lunch andd ptional dinner delivered through if you work late * Company owned push scooters * Nerf wars * Good health insurance * Yearly hacakthons and some unexpected perks: * Bi-weekly lunch talks open to any employee to talk * subscription * Flexible time off - no max or min, just take what you need * REALLY cheap health insurance * A budget for the hackathon * They pay for my Caltrain commute + Uber from the station Tons of extra curricular stuff like: * Community garden * Ultimate Frisbee team * Toastmaster's club * Ping Pong tournament * Rock climbing group and I'm sure there's stuff I don't know about yet. Overall I feel valued as an employee, and everyone around me is smart and motivated.


    * It's in Santa Clara. * The commute from SF is 2 hours. * This is really stretching it as a con, but apparently sushi used to be every week instead of once a month.

    I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ooyala (Santa Clara, CA) in September 2015.


    Got initial call from Director of Engineering, then followed by one technical phone interview which is mainly focus on coding and algorithm, the question was very challenge for me. After the phone screen, recruiter called me right away to tell me the next step is onsite interview. During the onsite interview, I meet 4 engineers and hiring manager, the interview questions are all about system design, algorithm and coding. It was really great experience to walk through the problem with them, the interviewers won't just throw the problem to you then set there, they actually solved the problem with you together, I got feeling that they are future "co-worker", not just interviewers. In hiring manager round, he made very clear picture about what Ooyala's technology, business, current challenges and direction to me, and answered bunch of my questions. Lastly, super nice recruiter went through all the interview stages with me, very efficient in the hiring process, friendly and response my question quickly. Next day of the onsite interview, I got the offer! Overall, this is my best interview experience so far.
