    Pros

It is what you make of it!
Since the beginning of the year, there has been a constant flow of new projects for the engineering and consulting teams alike. These projects are challenging in nature and provide learning opportunities for new team members, as well as for more senior employees. P3 is requested to staff them with teams so that less experienced colleagues can learn from more senior staff on the project. Analysts (all minimum Bachelor Degree) and interns take care of internal tasks, research and preparation work for the projects. Very cool setup. The company offers continual opportunities to take the lead in projects, drive the client with full responsibility for the results, and they even expose you to the acquisition and selling process, if you aspire to do so. If you are the type that waits for an invite to do something, this might not be for you. But if you have the inner drive to achieve the goals that P3 has to offer, then you have a lot of freedom with the right guidance and assistance.
The integration between the engineering and consulting teams, and the company backbone in the various offices has greatly improved.
The equipment that you get is really cool. The company cares for everyone on the team and you can be assured that there is real interest to find the solution to a problem. Just bring it up and don’t wait for it to be discovered.

    Cons

The company has worked through some growing pains and is coming out of changes that were implemented in the middle of last year. The current growth and the new projects are something not everyone is comfortable with, so be prepared to work your way through criticism. Some of the IT systems need further overhaul to keep up with the growth. Expect to travel and to show flexibility (new clients, new project content, different locations). Also the demand from clients on some of the Engineering and Consulting projects is challenging which comes with longer hours during peak times offset by a strong learning curve. I guess that is normal in an Engineering Consulting firm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue with the path that was put forward last year, it bears fruits. Focus on continues growth to offer more project opportunities, leadership opportunities and client experiences. Develop further rotational opportunities to other P3 divisions throughout the world to be able to participate in the global setup.

    Lead Test Engineer Interview

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 3 months - interviewed at P3 North America in July 2014.

    Interview Details

Process took a while. Applied and had a phone interview within two weeks. After that, did not hear back for nearly two months. Was contacted via email regarding an in person interview. The in person interview consisted of typical interview questions as well as some white board questions where I had to write/draw out an answer. One of them involved estimation/mathematics.

I was given a second interview, but declined it as it had taken too long and I had a job offer elsewhere. I did get a positive feeling from the interview/company.

    Interview Questions
    • Describe how a GPS system works (How many satellites are needed? What signals do they send?)
Describe how google uses GPS data to relay traffic information to your phone as you're driving your car.
How many golf balls will fit inside a 747?
