Greg, Associate Director,
"It all starts with the mission. We all have individual personal and professional reasons for joining the PCAOB, but the mission is the foundation. The most exciting part of working here is that we are still a fairly new organization. My experiences with the PCAOB have enabled me to utilize and expand on the skills I acquired both in industry and public accounting and still make it home in time for dinner. The world of inspections has exceeded my expectations and the outlook going forward is extremely positive for me and the PCAOB."
Jennifer, Deputy Chief Auditor,
"I was attracted to Standard setting because that’s where I knew I could have a direct impact on enhancing audit quality. We have the opportunity to interact with every other division within the PCAOB. We also work with senior partners at the firms and leaders at the SEC, GAO and IAASB. Gaining a broad perspective from top leadership, both within and outside the PCAOB, is one way our Standards group is able to make a difference to the profession."
Todd, Inspections Specialist,
"When I was recruited and interviewed, they talked about work-life balance. Everybody talks about having work-life balance, and I think as auditors, we all took that talk with a grain of salt. But then to come here and see it’s actually true, well, that was a nice surprise. At the same time, I continue growing here and developing my career. It really is a nice balance."
George, Deputy Director,
"I joined the PCAOB in 2003 because I believed in the mission. Since then, I have performed inspections of large and small registered firms and have assisted in the development of inspection methodology, guidance, and training. I am continually exposed to new accounting/auditing issues; no two days are the same. I remain challenged and am motivated by the Board’s mission as much today as I was when I joined. At the end of the day when I go home, I feel good about my work both from a professional and personal perspective."
Rebecca, Senior Manager,
"After spending more than 10 years developing my career and skills at a large public accounting firm, I took a position in the PCAOB's Division of Enforcement and Investigations. I was excited to use my public audit expertise in a new way and to take on a new challenge. From the very first day, my job has been rewarding. More importantly, I am impressed with the collaborative work environment, where my colleagues are focused on the Board's mission to protect investors."
Kimberly, Inspections Specialist,
"I have been through three inspections cycles now, and I’ve had a chance to work with large firms, small firms, and medium-sized firms. I have been able to see where we have influenced auditing quality at the firms first hand. I’ve seen the changes over the last few years and that’s been rewarding."

I applied online. The first round interview is a phone interview with HR going through the resume. The second round is two separate phone interviews with two managers, one followed by the other. They both are very nice. No hard or unexpected questions.
