I worked at PCO Innovation full-time for more than 3 yearsPros
Good to start a career, you travel across the world.
For north americans, you will visit places you've dreamed
of, specially in Europe. Pay is excellent well above
average, specially if you are at the customer site for a long period.
If your in it for the long haul, gun for the money as career wise there
no progress, the company has a flat hierarchy. You start as a consultant and
and end as one as well.
On the other hand, a strong sense of accomplishment when the system you worked on
helps a real product goes into production (ex planes, cars).
To get the most out of the experience, start out young and single with the company(24 years)
stay on for 6 years and get out at best 30 and at worst 35.Cons
Upon arriving at the client site, the company pays for the hotel
for only two weeks, after that you are on your own.
Most of the technologies thet you will work on are large enterprise
software. They do not reflect the latest technologies.
Average employe age is around 27, after 30 you start feeling
disconnected from your younger colleagues.
Because you might spend more than a year at the client site,
you build better relationships with client employees then
with your own colleagues. Most people of you class (hired date)
leave the company between 2-3 years
for familly reasons, better lifestyle or girlfriends pressure.
You might get stuck at a crappy nowhere customer site.
HR and recruiter turnover is above 75%. You know you've been in the company
for more than 2 years when you don't recognize HR when you get back.Advice to ManagementAdvice
Management should broad company offering to achieve critical scale. A lot of customers do not want to give us projects managements because company lacks project management skills and experience in engineering systems.RecommendsNeutral Outlook

Getting an Interview

I applied through a recruiter - interviewed at PCO Innovation.Interview Details
I got contacted by one of their talent acquisition officers, we had a chat on the phone, and I went in for part of an interview. The interviewer wanted to know my salary range, and they said that this is because they have strict salary brackets for entry level consultants. The salary was lower than I was okay with ($45-$50 in Seattle with lower possibilities of traveling). There is a java test, but we did not go onto that.No OfferNeutral Experience
